Cambridge School is a classical, Christ-centered (K-8) community of learners, which exists to partner with parents to educate the hearts and minds of children in both virtue and truth.
Cambridge School seeks to develop in our students the capacity and character required to live out their God-given destinies as they proceed to high school and beyond.
Children are born with a sense of wonder and awe about the world around them. We draw on this curiosity, spark the imagination, and ignite a passion for learning which lasts a lifetime. As students discover for themselves God's truth, they form a deeper understanding of how all learning is connected to God's created world and develop an understanding of their place in it.
We are a wildlife refuge, not a hothouse. We do not seek to shelter our students but to provide freedom and full expression of life within protective boundaries.
- Michael Pollock, Educator / First Head of School
Nature study has always been part of Cambridge’s educational philosophy, encouraging the growth and development of the whole child, the whole person. Our full-time outdoor education coordinator, Ann Kumpf, MOT, often reminds us of the power of getting outside for our spiritual growth:
“By participating in nature study, students hone their skills for noticing, for being curious, for attending to the detail that God put into His Handiwork. Nature studies lay the groundwork for children to slow down and make room to listen to God’s voice.”
Check out our Outdoor Education video to see for yourself how getting outside supports our mission and vision.
I love that Cambridge covers both the academics and the values. My kids are getting a great education, but they're growing in their character too.

We value children as persons created in God's image, not empty minds to be filled. We welcome Jesus Christ as an active, living presence in all that we do at Cambridge School. He is the "Master Teacher" who models the full integration of knowledge, wisdom, and character. We appreciate all the facets of life, including the arts, sciences, literature, history, mathematics, religion, and culture from a Christian world view.
Children learn best when they can experience the relationships between subject matters in a way that reflects "the big picture" of God's wholeness, not as isolated bits of information. At Cambridge, we create space to absorb and ponder. We relive historical events and identify with the characters of a book. Through a sense of wonder our students learn and make connections.
We inspire children's imaginations by immersing them in time-tested, rich literature, history, art, and music within an environment where students are encouraged to question and explore. As genuine questions emerge and students examine truth that transcends history, they are transformed from passive participants into engaged and interested learners. Exposure to the Masters of art, literature, music, and science inspires students to appreciate the patience and practice required for excellence in their own work.
Cambridge instilled in me a love for learning which allowed me to excel in high school and college. Cambridge helped me realize my love for science and recognize my vocation in the medical field.
