“Let us make mankind in our image, after our likeness…” Genesis 1:26

We reflect the image of our Creator God in many ways; among these is our need to partner with Him as co-creators. We see the world around us in its brokenness and its beauty, and we are compelled to bring order, gather the pieces, and give it form. This co-creation is a type of communication, a way of speaking so others may understand the varying facets we reflect of the imago dei

The Art curriculum at Cambridge introduces students to the fundamentals of artistic expression, builds skills in craftsmanship and problem-solving, and explores their identity as image-bearers of their Creator. Art dovetails with what students are learning in Unit studies, interweaving many different threads in the same cloth. Practically speaking, we draw and sculpt, paint and print, collect treasures from nature, learn about artists and makers in history, and repeat what our Maker says: it is good!
